บางส่วนของแถลงการณ์ นายนาบิล ฮุสเซน อัชรี อุปทูตซาอุดิอาระเบีย ประจำประเทศไทย หลังพบนายกฯอภิสิทธิ์ เช้าวันจันทร์ที่ 11 มกราคม 2553…1 วันก่อนอัยการสูงสุดมีคำสั่งคดีลอบสังหารนักธุรกิจซาอุฯ นายอัลลูไวรี่
“….It would be a historic moment after 13 successive governments to achieve these positive developments , which my country and government anxiously awaits.
I also requested that the current government and all officials should ensure transparency and justice without any interference whatsoever in the justice process, keeping in mind that greater causes and benefits for both our nations. Although the embassy has no authority or intention in interfering with any internal legal proceedings or decision, I believe that we have been fair, patient and understanding so far, despite being aware of strong lobbying efforts by some figures to influence the legal process and the course of justice in the latest developments. I do however not that it is in the best interest for all sides that justice is served, and commitments and promises are upheld, in order to rebuild trust and erase any shaken memories and restore lost confidence.
….Shortly after my meeting this morning I learned that there has been some last minute changes in the legal bodies overseeing the case of Mr. Alrwili.”
เต็มไปด้วยความคาดหวังของอุปทูตซาอุฯ ที่มาประจำในไทยสามปีครึ่งแล้วนะคะ ท่านอุปทูตบอกว่า “ลุ้น” กับผลการตัดสินในครั้งนี้มาก และมีความหวังในทางที่ดีมาตลอด จนกระทั่งเข้าพบนายกรัฐมนตรีเมื่อเช้านี้ เพราะพอประชุมเสร็จ ได้รับทราบว่ามีความพยายามของคนบางกลุ่ม ที่วิ่งเต้นเพื่อแทรกแซงการทำงานของอัยการสูงสุด
เหลืออีก 10 ชั่วโมงเท่านั้นค่ะ ที่จะได้รับทราบว่าความสัมพันธ์ทางการทูตและความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างประเทศไทยและซาอุดิอาระเบีย จะเดินก้าวหน้า…หรือถอยหลัง …กับผลคำสั่งคดีจะฟ้องหรือไม่ฟ้อง 5 ผู้ต้องหา คดีอุ้มสังหาร อัลลูไวรี เมื่อเกือบ 20 ปีก่อน
อนาคตของแรงงานไทยที่เตรียมจะไปทำงานที่ซาอุฯแขวนอยู่บนคดีนี้ด้วยค่ะ ถ้าออกมาชัดเจนว่าคนทำผิดจะถูกลงโทษ ความสัมพันธ์จะได้รื้อฟื้น...แต่ถ้ายังคลุมเครือหรือเจอ "โรคเลื่อน" ความสัมพันธ์ก็จะชะงักต่อไป
